Considering the number of people they transport, a Disney bus accident is a pretty rare occurrence. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a recent bus accident near Epcot Center. Fifteen people were injured in the accident, which happened at the toll plaza on Epcot Center Drive at Walt Disney World. Police say one bus crashed into another at the toll booth, resulting in minor injuries. There were 51 passengers aboard the impacted bus.
Disney officials said that all of the accident injuries were minor. “Nothing is more important than the safety of our guests and Cast Members,” a spokesman said.

FHP Lieutenant Kim Montes also characterized the bus accident as a minor event. She said it appears that the driver of the first bus had slowed down at a toll plaza where the buses usually don’t stop. The driver of the second bus apparently didn’t expect the first bus to stop.
“As they are going through the toll booth, they have to slow down,” Montes said. “They typically don’t stop at that toll booth as they enter and as the first bus slowed, the second one just failed to slow and rear-ended the first one, so really a minor collision.”
She said police issued a careless driving summons to the driver, who was doing less than 20 miles per hour.
